HOW TO REPAIR A WOVEN POLYETHYLENE HAY TARP
Step # 1
Look over the tarp over to assess all
damage. Not all damage can be repaired in the field. Tarp repair tape will not
hold up over the long haul on stress points such as seams or tie down points
although it may be a suitable emergency fix to get you through rough weather. If
the tarp is a relatively new investment, patching and sewing is recommended for
stress point damage to increase the life of the tarp. Inland Tarp & Cover offers
repair service at regular shop rates. Shipping your tarp to us for repair can

Small mouse holes or tears can be repaired with our Medium duty tarp repair tape, available in 3" x 60' rolls. This is NOT duct tape! Our tarp repair tape is made from a high quality, UV resistant 16 mil woven polyethylene tarp fabric. Five mils of adhesive is applied to the back of the fabric and a peel off paper backing is added for easy application

Step #2 Preparing the tarp for repair.
Clean at least a 6" area around the damaged portion of your tarp with water and a clean rag to assure secure adhesion of the tarp repair tape to the tarp material. HINT: Water is sufficient for most applications where dust or dirt is on the area to be repaired. If you have grease or oil residue, use an alcohol swab. Let the area dry completely!

Step #3 Applying the tarp repair tape.
For the best results, apply tape in a heated area or when the outside temperature is above 65 degrees Farenheit. Lay the tarp flat if possible. Mate the edges of the tear as best you can. Peel the paper backing off the tarp repair tape a little at a time as you apply to the tear or hole. Rub the tape with firm pressure to assure a tight seal between the adhesive and the tarp fabric. For added security, apply tape on the back side of the tear as well.

Step #4 Off Season Storage
Lay out your tarp and inspect it for damage. Repair all damage prior to storing. Once all damage has been repaired, if necessary, clean the tarp. Using two people, fan fold your tarp by pulling 3' to 5' sections back toward the end of the tarp.

Hint: When storing a Performer Hay Tarp, first fan fold the tarp, then straighten out all ropes. Insert the end of the J-Hook into the Super Cinch to insure that the J-Hooks do not puncture your tarp during the rolling process. Fold the ropes onto the tarp making sure that the ropes are neatly coiled to avoid tangling during installation next season.
Roll the tarp from each end toward center as tightly as possible and secure with ropes or straps. Store your tarp with some form of rodent repellant to insure that you will not have more mouse holes next season.
